MAO recently inaugurated a new phase, #MAOTempoPresente, in which the Museum opens up to artistic and creative activities through a rich program of residencies for artists and curators during which performers, artists, curators, and scholars will be invited to experience first-hand the collections and the venue, performing and “staging” the Museum.
The t-space X MAO, a spin off of the venue (which shares the same name) inaugurated in Milan by Giulia Spreafico and Wu Rui in 2016, brings to the Museum a series of projects by contemporary artists, invited to interact with the works in the permanent collection to reveal new meanings and create unique opportunities for dialogue between the past and the present.

Un’opera installativa inedita concepita da GianMarco Porru per gli spazi di t-space X MAO.
Il lavoro indaga la figura di Phoolan Devi (Gurha Ka Purwa, 1963–Nuova Delhi, 2001), una donna la cui vita è stata caratterizzata da una serie tragica di eventi che la vedono prima sposa bambina, poi bandita, fino a divenire rappresentante del Parlamento e infine morire assassinata nel 2001 a soli 37 anni.
