On the 11th July, on the occasion of the opening of the Politecnico di Torino Japan Hub in Kyoto, MAO Museo d'Arte Orientale (Turin, Italy) joins forces with Museo Casa Mollino to offer seven photographic prints by German artist Brigitte Schindler, which will become part of a permanent installation. These images unveil the private apartment of Carlo Mollino, an architect and professor at the Politecnico di Torino.
Schindler’s works reveal Mollino's eclecticism and the essential geometric harmony of his interiors, which also suggest his admiration for the Japanese tradition, "a most elegant civilization, perfect as an egg," in his own words.
A series of books and images will be on display to welcome the public and show the complex world of Mollino, architect, furniture designer, photographer, educator, skier and aerobatic pilot. The world of someone who spontaneously grasped the mastery of Japanese civilization.
